The Family Life Department in GCI is set up to ensure that family life of members of the church is founded on the word of God and on Godly principles. This is to ensure that there will be harmonious outpouring of love and peace in the life of members both within families and as individuals.
The main sections of the Family Life Ministry are
1. Single Fellowship: This is open to adult men and women of 18 years and above who are not yet married and have no children. Various programs that touch on a wide range of life experiences eg education, health, careers, Christian values and Christian living, relationships etc are organised for members of this fellowship. An offshoot of this ministry is the Adult Singles and Single Parent Ministries which also have the same goal and which are also tailored to address the peculiar circumstances of the members.
2. Premarital Counselling: This aspect of the ministry caters for adult men and women preparing for marriage. Premarital counselling is scheduled for a minimum of 3 months and couples are assigned to trained marriage counsellors who after the period of counselling may recommended the couple to the Senior Pastor for blessing of their marriage.
3. Couples Fellowship: The Couples Fellowship focuses on married couples. The activities of this fellowship is aimed at cementing the marriage bond, pre-empting or resolving challenges in marriages. Post marital counselling is a key part of the Couples Fellowship and together with the mentoring process couples receive support and guidance along their marital walk.
4. Elderly Ministry (Grace Seniors): This ministry is dedicated to the care and enhancement of the life of elderly members of GCI. The Ministry is run by a dynamic and dedicated team. The ministry is open to all elderly persons aged 60 years and above. Activities of the ministry include, prayer and Bible Study, counselling, discussions on the health and vitality of members; discussions of issues peculiar to the elderly as well as current and topical issues that affect the lives and livelihood of the elderly. The ministry also has a visitation and follow up schedule for its members who become indisposed or who need follow up.
